For the first time in Ukraine, the women's team of a football club received its own official partner - the authors of such a landmark precedent were the "Kryvbas" sports club and the "Aurora" multimarket chain.
However, this cooperation involves not only sponsorship Aurora's support of the women's FC Kryvbas in the debut European Cup season, as well as the social responsibility program, which is common to both - to implement the principle of equal opportunities for women and men. The signing of the contract and the solemn presentation of the new partnership took place on August 5 at the Hirnyk stadium in Kryvyi Rih.
"Football is more than a game, women's football is more than an "appendix" to men's football, our cooperation with Aurora is more than a partnership. Today FC "Kryvbas" officially announces the provision of equal rights and opportunities for women and men as its direction of social responsibility, because in fact this has been the philosophy of the club for a long time - since the creation of FC "Kryvbas" we have developed both the main men's and new women's teams equally.
Now we intend to continue to act more comprehensively and systematically in this direction, because now we have acquired like-minded partners in this direction", - noted the vice-president of FC "Kryvbas" Artem Gagarin.
With millions of audiences and economic power, football as an industry has an obligation to society to spread ideas and values of equal rights and opportunities for women and men. "As an established 'unfeminine sport', football is a great medium for demonstrating how harmful and irrational stereotypes are, especially about women, and how they limit potential and achievement.
A vivid example is the success of our main women's team, which is currently writing the international history of the club from Kryvyi Rih, and the U-15 girls, who are currently the current champions of Ukraine. They complement the achievements of the men's team. Because the best result is the provision of opportunities to everyone and, in the end, the maximum synergistic effect. In order to implement a common ideology and consistently create as many positive precedents as possible, the new partners "Kryvbas" and "Aurora" have created and will support the work Hub of equality (Equality Hub) - an informal platform aimed at:
- to unite stakeholders who share the philosophy of equality of rights and opportunities for women and men and strengthen cooperation aimed at the practical fight against stereotypes, discrimination and its hidden consequences, gender-based violence;
- to involve experts and opinion leaders in a constant discussion on ensuring equal rights and opportunities and to work for the benefit of raising public awareness on this topic;
- promote the exchange of experience and successful cases;
- create conditions for increasing opportunities for women and girls in traditionally "non-feminine" spheres of activity and promote the recognition and appreciation of women's achievements.
The partnership is currently concluded on 1. The partners want the results of this cooperation to be felt not only within their structures, but also in society in Kryvyi Rih, at the regional level, and in Ukraine as a whole. Another of its uniqueness is that the idea of Hub was initiated by men and women, against the background of more typical purely female solidarity projects.
The Hub will combine expertise on the issue of equal rights and opportunities and practical solutions directly from stakeholders. After all, whether the principle of equality and equal opportunities will be only declarative or will become part of our lives depends on each specific community, business structure, organization, leader/leader of opinions.
We will remind that in the summer of 2022, Ukraine adopted the "State Strategy for Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men for the Period Until 2030". This is evidence that at the state level it is recognized that this very issue will be one of the key ones in the post-war reconstruction and that each member of Ukrainian society is responsible for their local contribution to global positive changes in this direction.
