Artur Mykytyshyn: We are in the top 5, and could have been higher if it weren't for the unfortunate draw

Midfielder of Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas Artur Mykytyshyn answered the questions of the online publication UA-Futbol. The most relevant moments of the conversation are for your attention.

- If we recall the draws with Poltava (2:2) and Veres (2:2), what did Kryvbas lack to win?

- We lacked banal concentration at the end of the match. Well, we should have played more reliably in defense. And so mistakes happened and we lost the advantage. It's a shame.

- You were very close to beating Shakhtar (2:2), was the lost victory in that match a coincidence or a pattern?

- In fact, we played very well against Shakhtar. We played reliably near our own goal, successfully went on counterattacks. If we recall that match, then formally we did not lose the game. Shakhtar scored for us after the set pieces. The Miners controlled the ball well and put pressure on our goal.

I think that in the situation with the second goal conceded, we simply lacked communication between the players. We miscommunication somewhere before the set piece, didn’t figure out the safety net, the pass went to the far post and we conceded. In my defense, I must say that there are a lot of newcomers and young players in the team now.

- Before the match with Oleksandria, was the team under pressure from the winless streak?

- We understood everything ourselves. It was only our fault that we didn’t count the points. That’s why we went out against Oleksandria with the appropriate mood. As for any pressure on the team, there wasn’t any. We didn’t pay attention to all sorts of talk about the unsuccessful streak. We just went out, understood that we could win and did our job.

- Rate the first round for Kryvbas. What worked and what didn't. Which matches do you consider the most successful?

- There were a lot of changes in the team in the summer, new players came, new foreign players came. I think the team is still in the process of being built. But I will rate the first round as good. We are in the top 5, and could have been higher if it weren't for the disappointing draws. As for the matches, I will note the matches with Oleksandria, Shakhtar, Epicenter (5:4).

- And which match can be called the most unsuccessful?

- The defeat by Dynamo (0:4). Then we didn't succeed at all.

- Your general impressions of the first round in the UPL. What impressed you the most and what disappointed you the most?

- I think everyone is delighted that there is such a tight fight at the top of the table. The intrigue in the top five ("LNZ", "Shakhtar", "Polissya", "Kryvbas", "Kolos", "Dynamo") will keep fans in suspense until the last round.
