Malian defender of Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas Bakary Konate spoke about the team's return after the weekend and the start of preparations for the away game of the 9th round of the UPL against Rukh Lviv.
- Bakary, what is the mood in the team after the victory over Kudrivka?
- The team is in a great mood right now. We always approach joint work with a positive attitude, regardless of whether we play together on the field or perform different tasks in the team. Our team always acts as a single unit. Currently, we are working even more intensively, giving our best - both on the field and off it. There is a real team spirit and desire for results.
- Do you feel confident before the next matches?
- Yes, the team really feels confident. The last home victory has become an additional source of strength and motivation for us. But we are not stopping, we want to do even more, give our best even harder to please our fans and everyone who supports us.
- Our fans are simply delighted with your hairstyle - they even jokingly call it "Palma". How do you feel about such nicknames and do you plan to change your image in the near future?
- Regarding my hairstyle, an interesting question. For me, it is something more than just a style. It gives me confidence and reflects my mood. I am pleased that the fans like my image, I perceive such comments with a smile and gratitude. Honestly, I do not have a permanent style, I can easily change my hairstyle, even shave it to zero. But this is all temporary. Maybe very soon I will try something new. The main thing is to be yourself. Everyone has the right to self-expression, and I am no exception.
- Mendoza and Bar Lin are currently in the deployment of their national teams. Do you support your teammates?
- I think that the guys in the national teams show themselves from the best side. Especially Mendoza, in the last three matches he is simply amazing. This is a high level. Regardless of the opponent, be it Epicenter or Kudrivka, he demonstrates a stable and bright game. I am glad that he is in our team. I sincerely wish him further success.
Bar Lin is also a talented player. His technique, passes, vision of the field - all this inspires respect. He is a special football player, and I highly appreciate his skill. I wish him good luck, a good road - and only forward. And for now we continue to work here. And that is the main thing.
- Tell us about the team's return to training.
- We have already returned to training - we started the other day. The team atmosphere is wonderful, motivation is going through the roof. We have several important matches ahead - in particular against Ruh and Dynamo. These are principled games, and we want to be as ready as possible.
This week and next we will work even more intensively to enter the field in the best shape - as we have done before. We are completely focused on the future. And our main task is to give our all to the game.
