Chinedu Ichoku: From the moment I arrived at Kryvbas, I was delighted with everything that surrounded me

The Nigerian rookie of Kryvyi Rih "Kryvbas" U-19, defender Chinedu Ichoku told the club's journalists about his immediate plans and his own football dreams.

- Chinedu, congratulations! Fans are interested in learning a little more about you, about your football path. Remember your first workout.

- I was nine years old when I started my football career. It became my passion, my dream became reality. I started with street football, but later, thanks to the coach who came to our house and persuaded my parents to let me play football, I got into the Academy. The coach saw my desire to play. I could spend the whole day playing with my friends, but then I would come home and get spanked by my parents. They soon realized that this was my dream and supported me. I grew professionally and progressed at the Academy. I want to thank my coaches for their faith in me and for the football base I got thanks to them.

- Why football? Maybe someone from your family is connected with this sport?

- Yes, my older brother and I play football professionally. Brother performs in Nigeria. The family never approved our desire, because our parents wanted us to go to school and study. But we became football players.

- I am sure that a football player always faces various difficulties on his way. Share your memories, did you have any turning points in your career?

- This is a very long story. In short, it was an incredibly thorny path, because there was a lack of money for normal food, sports clothes and the like. But once again, the coaches of the Academy helped us a lot.

- Tell us about your strong qualities that a future successful football player should have.

- I play with both feet, I have speed and I work well with the ball.

- How would you rate the infrastructure of FA "Kryvbas"?

- The infrastructure of the club is at the highest level. Starting from the football fields, ending with the base and the hotel where we live. From the moment I arrived here, I am delighted with everything that surrounds me. My goal is to play for Kryvbas, win the Ukrainian championship and make it to the Champions League

- Do you have a dream?

- I dream of playing in the world's top clubs, such as "Barcelona" and "Real" Madrid. To become one of the fastest African football players in the world is my dream.
