Daniel Sosa: Vernydub did a great job with Kryvbas, he is the best coach of Ukraine

Striker of Kryvyi Rih "Kryvbas" Daniel Sosa answered the questions of Sport Express online publication. The most relevant moments of the conversation are for your attention.

- Daniel, let's start our interview about your first steps in football. At what age did you start playing?

- I started playing football when I was 7 years old. He began his career at the football Academy in Ghana, where boys aged 10-12 trained. I dreamed of becoming a soccer player, so my uncle decided to take me to my first training session. 

- Is your family into football? What do parents do?

- My family is not particularly interested in football. You can say that I am the first. My mother is a businesswoman, she has her own clothing store. Dad is in the furniture business. I also have a brother who is 20 years old, he is also not related to football. My brother and I have very warm friendly relations. 

- You were born in Ghana, but you also have Nigerien citizenship. What are these two countries known for? 

- Ghana is famous for football, boxing and music. Niger is a big country, which also has a lot of interesting things to do. I can single out people who are really united and extremely hardworking. Many tourists from different countries come to Ghana, especially in the month of December, because it is during this period that various festivals are held there. As for Niger, there are many French tourists.  

- In 2023, you waited a long time for a visa and finally moved to «Kryvbas». What were the expectations from the Ukrainian stage of your career?

- Indeed, I understood that this is a great opportunity for me. In addition, Dibango had already moved to Kryvbas, so I understood that this was also a plus for me. Therefore, when the offer came from the red and whites, I immediately corresponded with Ivan to learn more about the situation in the country, about the team, living conditions, etc. I had four months to consider this proposal. Soon I contacted the agent and informed him that I want to sign a contract with FC "Kryvbas" because the club is waiting for me and my friend plays there, who also supports my choice. 

In addition, it was a great opportunity for me, because "Kryvbas" plays in the Ukrainian Premier League and has great ambitions. "Why not," I thought, and flew to Turkey to issue a visa. During its registration, I managed to play for the Niger national team. When everything was ready, he arrived in Ukraine. I remember when I came here for the first time, I made my debut shortly after in the game against Dynamo. Support of fans, crazy emotions. At that moment I was very happy and realized that I had not made a mistake with my choice.

- The last season is the UPL bronze awards. Success for you?

- I think that we have done a great job. Of course, there was a bit of pressure at the end of the season, because everyone expected even more from us, and that's very nice. But in general, we achieved a good result, we ended up on the third step. The main thing is to understand that, even when we lose, we still have to move forward and not lose heart. We must be even more focused and determined to reach another level. 

- Is Yuriy Vernydub the best coach of Ukraine?

- One hundred percent. He did a great job with the club, in two years he led "Kryvbas" to the UPL bronze awards. In addition, he is a true patriot of Ukraine.

- Against which team or football player do you dream to play in the future in the team «Kryvbas» in European Cups?

- Against "Chelsea". Because I believe that FC Kryvbas will be able to create problems for Chelsea. I believe in our team and will always believe, because "Kryvbas" is Us!
