Midfielder of Kryvyi Rih FC "Kryvbas" Denys Kuzyk answered questions from the online publication Ukrainian Football. The most relevant moments of the conversation are for your attention.
- You were born in the village of Bohdanivka, Ternopil region. Tell us about your homeland. What is it famous for?
- This is a small village. Overall, I have warm memories of this place. The first thing that comes to mind is - warm milk that my grandmother and I drank and playing football with friends near the school. By the way, my grandparents still live there, so I happily visit them whenever I can.
- How did you become interested in football? What was your story?
- Since childhood, I was passionate about football. Every free minute, my friends and I played ball in the yard. In addition, my father often took me with him to play. Then, when I turned five, my parents sent me to the football school of the Pidvolochysk Youth Sports School, which was located 15 kilometers from my village. I really liked football and over time I began to work with the ball more and more often.
- Let's move on to Kryvbas. There is information that you agreed to the Kryvryhov team's offer while being in an unusual place for a football player. Is that true?
- There is such a thing, it's an interesting story (smiles). One day I was fishing when my agent called and offered me an option with Kryvbas. I immediately agreed to this offer. Interestingly, when I played in Kolos, my wife always paid attention to Yuriy Vernydub as a coach and thought that it would be really cool for me to work with him. Soon, it turned out that way. So it turns out, my wife felt the same way.
- In the first part of the season, you played instead of the injured Dibango on the left in defense...
- If you're referring to returning to my former position, it went without a problem, because before that I played on the left in defense for many years, so I felt at home there all this time while Dibango was recovering from his injury.
- There are many legionnaires in Kryvbas. Is the language barrier not a problem?
- You know, some guys know English, so we can communicate. Personally, I am currently learning English so that there is no language barrier and obstacles in communication. All the legionnaires and I communicate perfectly and understand each other. If we take the legionnaires, then I communicate a lot with Hrvoje Ilic and Rafael Bandeira.
- In your opinion, who is the greatest talent in your role in the world?
- I think it's the Spanish footballer Lamine Yamal. An incredibly talented player. Just look at what he's doing on the pitch at 17. It's incredible. He still has a long way to go. Let's see if he can reach the level of Ronaldo and Messi.
