Denys Pidhurskyi: We really wanted to win. Now our city is in mourning, and we are with it

Midfielder of Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas Denys Pidhurskyi shared his thoughts on the away win in the 1/32 finals of the Ukrainian Cup against FC Rokyta - 3:0.

- What are your impressions after the difficult cup match?

- In fact, the game was very difficult from the first minutes. But this is expected, because this is a cup match - they are all like that. Every team from the lower leagues tunes in and wants to show their maximum against clubs from the UPL. Therefore, we were preparing for a difficult fight, and from the first minutes it was like that. But we immediately agreed with the guys that we need to score a quick goal, and then it will become easier. And so it turned out: we scored, took full control of the game and brought the match to a logical conclusion.

- The team dedicated this victory to our city and the victims...

- Now is a very difficult time for Ukraine and for our Kryvyi Rih. Unfortunately, the day before was a difficult day for all of us: we were on the road and learned the terrible news that our hometown was being shelled. We really wanted to win, to bring at least some small joy to our fans, because now the whole city is in mourning, and we are with it.

The team also played for our media director Roman Popov. He was injured and is currently in the hospital. We all sincerely support him, we wish him a speedy recovery, so that he can return to us, help in the media and continue to grow as a professional.
