Midfielder of "Kryvbas" Kryvyi Rih Dmytro Khomchenovskyi answered the questions of Tribuna online publication, talking about his hometown Vugledar, which is suffering from the attacks of the 404 country.
- What was Ugledar like in peacetime? Please share your memories.
- Ugledar is a small mining town. Small, but very beautiful! The city developed, modern parks, fountains and houses were built. A small cozy and flourishing city.
- What are your most vivid memories related to the city and life in it?
- All my childhood and teenage years passed in Ugledar. What can I say - my whole family, all my friends and acquaintances lived there. And my wife's family too, that's where I met her. We have been together since 2009, so we have a lot of memories.
- Have relatives and close people left in the city? Are they safe?
- No, everyone left, of course. My family left immediately, and the woman's family a little later - it was already much more difficult and dangerous to take them from there. It was successful only the second time, because the first time the person who was going to pick them up was shot on the way to the city. Everything is fine now, they are all safe.
- What did your family lose in Ugledar?
- My family lost three apartments in Vugledar itself, and two private houses near the city. It was very difficult for them to survive.
- What was the state of sports in the city before the war?
- There was a sports school where everyone practiced various sports: boxing, wrestling, swimming, and, of course, football. Children of all ages were engaged, they had modern sports grounds for everything, a large field with a lawn. There was sport in the city... but then the "Russian measure" came.
