Jhoel Maya: It was my childhood dream - to play in a European team

Kryvbas' new signing, 19-year-old Ecuadorian attacking midfielder Jhoel Maya, whose signing we already reported on, arrived in Kryvyi Rih and gave his first interview as a red-and-white player.

- Joel, welcome to the Club. What were your first emotions when you found out you were joining our team?

- I was very happy and excited at the same time. It was my childhood dream to play in a European team. That's why I'm very glad to have joined such a big Club as Kryvbas.

- What did you know about our Club and the Ukrainian Championship before you made your decision?

- Everything happened through my agent. As soon as he said there was an offer, I started looking for information about the Club, following the team. After that, it was easy to make a decision.

- Why did you choose number 28?

- In Ecuador, this number has a special meaning for me, that's why I chose it.

- Share: what surprised you the most after arriving in Kryvyi Rih?

- I was pleasantly surprised by the Club's infrastructure, and the project itself in general. Kryvbas has a great future. As for Ukrainian dishes, I really liked the Ukrainian borscht. Delicious!

- Describe yourself in three words - as a football player and as a person.

- Modest, fast, goal-scoring.

- What are your goals for this season in Kryvbas?

- To establish yourself in the main team. And achieve the highest results. Championship? Why not.

- What would you like to say to our fans?

- Support Kryvbas and always support us. I came here to help the team achieve all its goals. Kryvbas - is Us!
