Panamanian midfielder for Kryvyi Rih’s Kryvbas, Giovany Herbert, spoke about preparations for the UPL Matchday 9 home game against LNZ Cherkasy.
- Giovany, you were away with the Panama national team. How does it feel to be back at Kryvbas?
- I think I was away from the team for quite a while, so my return has been very emotional. I’m really looking forward to playing at our home stadium again, in front of our fans who love and support us so much.
- A tough match against LNZ lies ahead. In your opinion, what will be the key for Kryvbas to secure a win?
- We know we’re facing a difficult match against a strong opponent - we’re fully aware of that. That’s why we need to step onto the pitch from the very first minute with the right mindset, a strong desire, and total commitment. We have to do everything in our power to get the victory.
- How would you assess your experience with the Panama national team during the international break? What did you take away from those matches?
- Being with Panama provided a lot of valuable experience for both me and my teammates. I believe everyone - from the younger players to the more experienced ones - learned a great deal. We adapted well to the tactical setups and the coach’s requirements. I’m happy with my performance, but I’m not stopping here. I want to keep progressing so I can contribute even more to the national team.
- You scored a debut goal while wearing the national team jersey. What did you feel at that moment, and how special is this achievement for you?
- As for scoring for the national team - it’s an incredible feeling! I think every child dreams of scoring a goal in their national team’s jersey. I managed to make that dream come true, and I worked very hard to achieve this. Now, I need to keep working on myself, continue developing, and strive to score even more goals.
