FC Kryvbas and Heroes Tribune held a Memorial Match in honor of the fallen fans

The match of the 24th round of the UPL "Kryvbas" - "Ruh" on April 19 in Kryvyi Rih became a special memorial event. FC "Kryvbas" together with the "Heroes Tribune" foundation dedicated this match to the memory of the fallen fans of the Kryvbas club who gave their lives defending Ukraine.

The fan movement of "Kryvbas" suffered heavy losses - 25 representatives of the ultras community will no longer return to the stands of their native stadium. Their families were invited to the match: parents, wives, children and loved ones, who today continue to carry the memory of their Heroes.

Before the start of the game, the teams, spectators and the entire football community honored the memory of the fallen with a minute of silence. Photos of the fallen fans of "Kryvbas" appeared on the stadium scoreboard - those who recently supported the team in the sector, and with the outbreak of the war stood to defend the country. This moment was one of the most emotional - when the stadium froze, and memory united thousands of people into one whole.

A special symbol of the Memory Match was the solemn first kick at the ball, which was performed by 4-year-old Demyan - the son of the representative of the Kryvbas fan movement, Oleg Stasyshyn. Together with his mother Iryna, he entered the field, continuing the connection of generations and his father's work.

Oleh Volodymyrovych Stasyshyn (call sign "Sportik") supported Kryvbas for many years as part of the Oldschool Kryvbas fan group. With the beginning of a full-scale war, he stood up for the defense of Ukraine, served as a junior lieutenant and commander of a rifle platoon. He died on October 2, 2024 while performing a combat mission.

“At today's match in memory of the fallen ultras, we are transferring all the funds for the purchased tickets to the Heroes' Stand, thereby supporting the families of the fallen fans. This is the decision of the president, the decision of the leadership. We always try to help the guys - our ultras, and those who are fighting, and the families of those who died,” commented Volodymyr Baienko, CEO of FC Kryvbas.

The Remembrance Match is not just a football event. This is a moment when football pays tribute to the names and stories of those who gave their lives for the freedom of the country. This is a space where families are not left alone with their loss, but feel the support of a large football community.

“Every Remembrance Match is not just about football. It is about the responsibility to remember. About the unity that arises in the most difficult moments. And about gratitude to those who made our today possible. "We thank Kryvbas for supporting the foundation's initiatives and honoring the memory of the Heroes not only at the Memorial Matches, but also at every home game," emphasized Tykhon Amosov, co-founder of the Heroes' Stand Foundation.

Such events are important not only for the families of the fallen Heroes, but also for the entire football community. After all, memory is what keeps us together and does not allow us to forget the price of freedom.
