Ihor Tymchenko: Today we played against a very good team

The coach of SK Poltava Ihor Tymchenko spoke about the away match against Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas - 2:2 in the 11th round of the UPL.

- Today we played with a very good team that has history, infrastructure, good players in the squad: many foreign players, an experienced coach. I think we played a good match, started actively, scored a goal and I will note a pretty good first half. We missed, then reacted, scored from a free kick.

The second half, in my opinion, is a dubious penalty. And then we pressed a little against our own goal. Perhaps this is our mistake, but Kryvbas also added later. At the end, after the alarm, we also had a moment to win. Overall, a good match in our performance.

- What place do you expect this season?

- We are counting on the place that will allow us to stay in the UPL. Of course, it is difficult for us. We had a lot of injuries, now there are a little less of them, so the results have improved. But it is still difficult for us to compete with the UPL clubs. I think that Kryvbas is a good team, but, and this is my subjective opinion, the penalty is unfair. I think that if the referees had treated us a little more adequately, we would have had more points.

- What was your team's game plan today? From the defense?

- No, there was no defensive plan. You saw for yourself, we started the match actively, did not play defense, but tried to act actively. The game plan often dictates the situation on the field. The plan was to play actively, try to use our strengths. Kryvbas is a very good team in attack, but they have a lot of problems in defense.
