Kryvyi Rih "Kryvbas" played the first match in the new season of the UPL, which all fans have been waiting for so long in these difficult times for Ukraine, for which special thanks to the ZSU. On the road, our team faced Kovaliv "Colossus".

At the beginning of the game, the teams stared at each other. Moreover, they had never played against each other before. The opponents exchanged corner kicks, and after our submission, Banada scored the first shot on goal in the match. The ball bounced off the lawn and flew over the goal. In the 14th minute, without preparation, Ustimenko made a good shot from outside the penalty area - just above the crossbar.

"Colossus" responded in the 18th minute: the people of Kryvyi Rih created problems of their own. After a wing pass, Zotko knocked the ball out, but in such a way that he almost scored in his own goal. Sarnavskii had to demonstrate a miracle of reaction and transfer the ball to the corner. The red and whites had a territorial advantage, but chances were very difficult.

As for the hosts, they played on the counterattack and threatened our goal after the set pieces. After one of them, unfortunately, we missed the first goal of the UPL season. Canopy from the right flank: after hitting one of the blacksmiths with his head, the projectile hit the post. Goncharenko was the first to finish in time - 1:0. Kryvyi Rih went forward to equalize the score, but "Colossus" acted quite densely and did not allow our boys to turn around in their half of the field.

During the break, Yuriy Vernydub made two changes in the team, strengthening the right flank of the midfield and attack: Shevchenko replaced Ponedelnik, Khoblenko replaced Ustimenko. And the debut of the second half of the game was left for the guests: after a quick positional attack, no one dared to break through, although the positions for the shot were very good. And immediately Khomchenovsky shot powerfully from outside the penalty area - the goalkeeper was on the spot.

Kovalivci responded with their own moment, when Popov made a dangerous shot from the second floor after a corner. Fortunately, past the gate. With the release of the fast Korablin, Kryvbas attacks became even more frequent. But the moment arose again at the gate of Sarnavskyi. Corner, the ball got stuck in the feet of the football players and almost crossed the goal line. The defense of the people of Kryvyi Rih held out.

At the 77th minute, a long-awaited goal episode occurred in the goal of "Colossus". Korablin punched, the defender blocked the shot, the ball bounced to Debelko, but he could not beat the goalkeeper. "Kryvbas" mounted and had another chance: in the 86th minute after a corner, Hoblenko headed, but it hit directly at Volynets. And at the 90th + 4th minute, after a corner, Khoblenko again - inaccurate.

Unfortunately, Kryvyi Rih lost in the opening match of the season. Our victories are ahead.
