Kostiantyn Frolov: We really need the winning points, the whole fight is ahead

Comments after the match of the 18th round of the first stage of the Ukrainian Women's Championship 2025\2026 Women "Shakhtar" - Women "Kryvbas" (1:0).

Kostiantyn Frolov, head coach of Women "Kryvbas":

- The opponent was stronger at the moment than us. They surpassed us in pace, quality of work with the ball. It was difficult for us today. The first half was frankly unsuccessful. The second half: we looked better, created several chances and, in principle, there were no obvious failures, as in the first half in defense. But we failed to score a goal.

The girls tried, fought, they try to work under pressure and play qualitatively. But we don't succeed in everything, because, I repeat, we are a young team, and it is still very difficult for us to counteract such experienced opponents as "Shakhtar". Every next game will be like a battle for us. We need to stay in the Premier League, so the whole fight is ahead. And we really need the points.

Anna Stekolshchikova, midfielder of the Women Kryvbas:

- The match turned out to be quite difficult. It's a pity that we didn't manage to realize our chances, although the girls created them. It was physically difficult, unfortunately. We did a lot of work, but we couldn't get the result we needed. We hope that in the next matches it will be much better. The Shakhtar team is from the top five. It was obvious that the girls are already preparing for the second stage matches, so this is a pretty good experience for us.

What was missing? First of all, self-confidence, because the girls are still growing professionally. I think everything will come. We scored quite a few goals last round, so today we saved them for the second stage (smiles). I'm not completely satisfied with my game, but, again, we have a lot of matches ahead of us, we will work, we will improve our results.
