On Monday, November 2, Kryvbas will play another home match in the 2026/2027 Ukrainian Premier League season. As part of Matchday 11, the "Red-and-Whites" will host Dynamo Kyiv.
This upcoming clash continues a rivalry between two teams well-acquainted with each other. Their last encounter took place on April 26, 2026 - also in Kryvyi Rih. During that Matchday 25 fixture of the previous championship, the teams treated fans to a true goal-scoring spectacle. Kryvbas led 4:1 at halftime, thanks to four goals from Mendoza; however, Dynamo managed to fight back in the second half and snatch a 6:5 victory. Consequently, the upcoming match promises to be particularly exciting.
Both teams head into this encounter fresh off matches in the Ukrainian Cup. In their most recent outing on October 29, Kryvbas faced Zorya in the Round of 16. Regulation time ended in a 1:1 draw, but the "Red-and-Whites" prevailed 3:2 in the penalty shootout to advance to the quarterfinals. Prior to that, Oleksandr Petrakov’s side drew 0:0 with Bukovyna in the league and suffered a 0:3 home defeat to LNZ.
Dynamo played their most recent match on October 27 in the Ukrainian Cup. The Kyiv club lost 0:3 to Shakhtar, ending their run in the tournament. Prior to this, in the league, the Kyiv side defeated Kudrivka 3:1, though they had previously suffered a 1:3 away defeat to Polissya. Also in October, Dynamo secured a 1:0 victory over Karpaty.
The situation regarding the coaching staff at both clubs deserves special attention. Throughout October, both Kryvbas and Dynamo changed their head coaches. The Kryvyi Rih club parted ways with van Leeuwen, appointing Oleksandr Petrakov as his successor. Under the new manager, the "Red-and-Whites" have already played two official matches: a draw against Bukovyna and a victory over Zorya in a penalty shootout during the Cup.
On October 18, Dynamo announced the departure of Kostiuk. Polish coach Maciej Kędziorek was appointed as the acting head coach. Under his leadership, the Kyiv team defeated Kudrivka, but subsequently exited the Ukrainian Cup after losing to Shakhtar.
After 10 rounds of the UPL, Dynamo has 19 points and sits in fourth place in the standings. Kryvbas, with six points, holds the 15th position, though they have games in hand. For the Red-and-Whites, the upcoming match is an opportunity to improve their standing in the tournament and build on the positive momentum following their cup success. Fans can look forward to a high-stakes clash, with both teams highly motivated.
