"Kryvbas" - "Karpaty" 1:4

In the first match of the new season at home in the 1st round of the UPL, Kryvbas hosted Karpaty. Two summer newcomers of the red and white team officially made their debut from the first minutes: Israeli defender Nawi and Jamaican forward Satchwell.

First half

In the 3rd minute, Rusyn dangerously shot into the goal from the edge of the penalty area, but the ball flew over the crossbar. In response, the hosts created several sharp moments: in the 9th minute, Shevchenko and Satchwell took turns striking from the edge of the penalty area, but the Karpaty defense managed to block both attempts.

In the 13th minute, Kryvbas organized a rapid counterattack after the guests' corner. The hosts ran out three in two, but Seck's final shot from the edge of the penalty area turned out to be weak - Marchenko caught the ball without any problems.

The key episode occurred in the 20th minute, when Kryvbas' newcomer Satchwell boldly dribbled in the penalty area and forced his opponent to break the rules. The penalty was confidently converted by Jurcec, who opened the score in the 22nd minute - 1:0. At the end of the half, Lviv increased its activity. Baboglo shot dangerously from several meters, but Kemkin showed an excellent reaction and saved his team.

In the added time before the first half, the referee, after reviewing the VAR, awarded a penalty to Kryvbas for a foul by Jones. Chachua came close to the mark, who beat Kemkin and restored the balance - 1:1.

Second half

After the break, the teams continued to play open football, regularly creating dangerous moments near both goals. In the 54th minute, Kostenko had a great chance, who shot from close range without any obstacles, but the ball flew near the post.

Later, the Lviv team still took the lead, for the first time in the match. Baboglo, after a corner kick and a rebound, powerfully shot low into the far corner – 1:2. In the 65th minute, Kostenko jumped out one-on-one with Kemkin and coolly beat him – 1:3. It was a knockdown.

Seven minutes later, the same Kostenko effectively passed the defenders, threw the ball over the goalkeeper, after which he hit the crossbar. Vantukh was the first to finish – 1:4. Shortly after the fifth goal in the match, the game was interrupted for almost an hour due to an air alarm.

After the resumption of the match, Kryvbas controlled the course of the game and had a territorial advantage, but the score did not change until the final whistle. Pidhurskyi could have scored the debut goal, but his shot from the second floor was blocked by the goalpost. Unfortunately, we are losing. We believe in the team.
