Kryvbas continues its preparations for the second part of the season in Spain. The sixth friendly match is against the bronze medalist of the Latvian championship 2025 – FC Liepaja from the 78,000-strong city of the same name on the Baltic Sea coast.
The opponent is the champion of Latvia 2015 and 2-time winner of the national cup – 2017, 2020. The club was founded in 2014. The cost of the team is 6.2 million euros. The head coach is 52-year-old Swedish specialist Andreas Elm.
The team is quite international. There are football players from different continents: Ireland, Kenya, Montenegro, Brazil, Mauritania, Switzerland, Senegal, and other countries. And even a Ukrainian, 28-year-old midfielder Andriy Korobenko, a Shakhtar graduate.
This year, Liepaja played the following friendly matches: Paide Estonia – 3:1, Nimme Kalju Estonia – 3:5, Transinvest Lithuania – 5:2, AIK Sweden – 3:1. Before this sparring, the red and whites have already played five friendly matches in Spain: Midtjylland Denmark - 0:3, Aarhus Denmark - 2:4, Daejeon Citizen South Korea - 3:3, Tianjin Tigers China - 3:0, Brentford B England - 0:0.
