Oleksandr Kamenskyi: I set goals to help the team as much as possible and progress every day

Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas midfielder Oleksandr Kamenskyi spoke about his debut at the official level and assessed his performance for the Ukrainian U-19 national team.

- Rate your debut in professional football. What did you succeed in, and what do you still need to work on?

- I think that the debut turned out to be not bad. I played in many matches for half a year and even managed to score a goal. I still need to work on my physical qualities and tactical understanding, on making more correct decisions.

- Which match in the first round do you consider the most successful for you and why?

- Against Metalist 1925, when I came on as a substitute. At one point I managed to cling to the ball, and I also had several other good moments.

- You are a representative of a completely new generation in Ukrainian football, which reaches the adult level already during the war. Name the main features of your football players of the same age. Some say that you grow up early, others consider your generation to be very pragmatic, wanting to get as much as possible from football right away. Which opinion do you agree with?

- We grow up during the war and therefore know how to adapt to any circumstances. That is why we are considered more pragmatic. We are even more friendly and united.

- Who is an authority for you in football and in the team in particular? Whose advice do you listen to?

- I listen to the advice of all my teammates, in particular the captain, Maksym Zaderaka, because he is the most experienced in our team and a very high-quality football player. During his career, he managed to play with many qualified football players.

- How would you assess your performance this year as part of the U-19 national team? What are your main impressions of the matches and partners? What was your favorite part of working in the national team under the leadership of such a famous coach as Dmytro Mykhailenko?

- Everything went very well, because we managed to get out of the group in first place of the Euro qualifiers and go to the next round. The emotions are good, because we managed to win all three matches and not concede a single goal. We had a friendly atmosphere in the team all the time, everyone supported each other. The coaching staff contributed to this and everyone felt the trust of the coaches. I would like to say separately that Dmytro Mykhailenko picked up very cool, high-quality players in our age category.

- What is the task of Kryvbas for the second round. Fighting for the European cups?

- Yes, we will fight for the European cups, but first we need to work hard during this winter break.

- What are your goals for 2026 (more playing time, a solid place in the main squad)?

- I set goals to help the team as much as possible and to progress every day.
