Alexander Romanchuk: Very grateful to Yuri Vernydub for trust and support

- Alexander, how and when did you start doing football, who brought you to this sport?

- Football has been in my life since childhood. I participated in a young guy in various school football tournaments, which later grew to a professional level. I remember that the coach saw my potential and highlighted me from other guys. One day we played the area where I was noticed by coaches from Ivano-Frankivsk Prykarpattya. They were invited to come to the academy for training. Since then, at the age of nine years, and my life can be said, a full -fledged professional football path.

- in 2019 you spent three matches for Ukraine's youth team. How they were first emotions when got a call?

- I was progressing rapidly by that time. Initially, an unexpected contract with Dynamo, then a call to the national team of Ukraine, whose coach was Rotan. I remember how we went to Turkey's meeting, where the Antalia Cup tournament was held, which eventually won. I played three matches for half an hour and got a wonderful experience. I hope it was my not the last challenge to our national teams.

- return to Ukraine- to Kryvbas in . Did the desire to work with Yuri Vernydub played a major role in this transition?

- Of course, I had a desire to work with such an experienced trainer as Yuri Nikolaevich Vernydub. But there was also a great desire to return home to Ukraine. Therefore, I asked the agent to look first of all variants with Ukrainian clubs. A variant of Kryvbas appeared soon. Initially, we contacted the club management - CEO Volodymyr OM Bayenko. After that, it was important for the final solution to talk to the head coach - Yuri Vernydub OM

I remember a warm conversation with Yuri Nikolaevich, after which I have no doubt whether to sign a contract with Kryvbas and return to Ukraine.  Of course, I consulted with my family. Mom was very worried about me. Looking back, I understand that I made the right step. After all, I found a wonderful team and experienced coaching staff. The team and I work a lot, even the experience of playing European Cups.

Maybe at the beginning of the new season we did not show a stable game, but now, when there is more rest and time for preparation, we are gaining conditioning and moving up the standings. But, most importantly, I am at home now, so I feel, as they say, in my plate. Of course, it is not easy to do your work during the war against the background of news, shelling and sirens. However, watching the news, being more emotionally harder. I am at home and it's the most important thing.

- you have not played for two years in Ukraine. When he returned, how used to get used to the matches with sirens?

- honestly, the first match was sensitive to me. Before the game, I was very immersed in the awareness of the war, because we honored the memory of the dead moment of silence. They honored the fallen heroes. The first symbolic blow to the wounded military - it all greatly influenced me psychologically, because at that time, these emotions were new to me. I remember the ants on the skin and no thought about football.

In general, it is not easy to play during air sirens, because it is difficult to configure to confrontation after an underground cover - the team sits there for an hour, perhaps more. After that, all emotionally depressed, and the body automatically weakens. I didn't think it really would be so hard. It knocks out of the track, and then it is difficult to show their strong qualities on the field. But the most difficult, of course, our defenders of Ukraine on the front line. The low bow to them for the fact that Ukraine continues to remain an independent state. We will definitely defeat, in another way can not be.

- in Kryvbas and you immediately became a player of the base. The trainer's trust is felt?

- Yes, I can say that from the first day I immediately felt trust. I had little time for adaptation because I was a week before the start of the season. The trainers tried to integrate me into the training process, teammates also supported very much. I especially felt trust from Yuri Vernydub, and when in the first game I went to the field in the starting lineup. It was very cool for me. I understood that there is no error and I have to justify all hopes. We won that match - my debut started with a positive note. I am very grateful to Yuri Nikolaevich for this trust and I hope that I am doing my work qualitatively.

- Share your dream.

- As I said before, I am a maximalist, so I set myself the maximum goals. But I am also a realist. I do not say that tomorrow I will play for the national team or in the Champions League. I understand that it takes a lot to work a lot and gradually, step by step, I believe that I will achieve all the goals. Currently, my goal is to come to workout, give everything and return without injuries. I do my best to tomorrow to be better than today. And sincerely believe that moving this way, I will increase my professional level and play one day at the world.

- What would I say to little Alexander Romanchuk at the beginning of his career?

- I would tell my little one: dream, work and listen to anyone. After all, there were always people, even from a close environment, who did not believe in my successful future. Many advised me to finish play with football, take up the mind and choose a stable profession. However, I missed these words past my ears, because I did not get hung up in the opinion of others. My motivation and driving force was always the desire to prove to everyone that I am capable of.
