Patrick van Leeuwen: We have worked hard as a team this season

The head coach of Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas Patrick van Leeuwen commented on the home match of the 29th round of the Ukrainian Premier League against Shakhtar Donetsk - 2:3.

- Today Paraсo came on as a substitute in the second half. Don't you think that perhaps he should have been given the opportunity to play from the first minutes?

- We have a limit on foreign players, and I should have put Mulyk in the attack instead of Paraсo. This is the first. Secondly, the players must work properly during the week to deserve their place in the starting lineup.

- Today Shevchenko had another very cool match. I want to ask about his progress in general. What is your opinion?

- I want to say that I am dissatisfied with his performance in the first half, because he should have acted simpler and moved the ball faster. But in the second half he added, scoring a goal. I am very glad that he recovered and worked well after the break. We need to make him play more consistently. He needs to understand when to add some extras to his game. He needs to work on it and progress.

- Today I saw that your coaching staff had a lot of complaints about the refereeing. How would you comment on that?

- I think that when a team takes a corner kick or a free kick from the goal for 45 seconds, and then they only add three minutes, that's not a good job from the referees. They need to add more. And sometimes they don't judge according to the rules either, that happens too.

- The season is almost over. There are a lot of rumors about the players, about the leaders of Kryvbas, who may leave the team. Tell us what you see the team like next season?

- This season we worked a lot as a team. And if the players can leave, if they can be bought out - we'll see. Those whose contracts are ending, of course, will leave, but we will continue to work and build the team.
