Head coach of Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas Patrick van Leeuwen - about the third test match at the winter training camp in Spain against the South Korean Daejeon Citizen - 3:3.
- Patrick, 120 minutes of sparring. What information did it bring you?
- Well, we played four halves of thirty minutes each to involve all the players, and at the end we released the Academy students to give them playing time. The first two halves were played by more experienced players. I think we should have managed the moments better and created more opportunities to score. I think we scored some good goals.
They should have scored more, but at the same time they conceded two goals that they shouldn't have. I'm not happy with that, because yesterday we had a good team meeting where we tried to set goals for the near future. So I was a little disappointed in that regard.
I'm happy with the goals scored, but not with the goals conceded. Then after two halves we changed the line-up. Volodymyr Vilivald played another thirty minutes, so in total he spent ninety minutes on the field today. The rest of the line-up was made up of Academy players plus Bar Lin. That was good. I liked the energy the guys put into the game.
I saw that they were still a little afraid of playing against older players, and also against a good team from South Korea. So it was a lot of new things for the young players, but they did well and even scored a goal in the end.
- Our new player Jones made his debut today. Tell us about his adaptation.
- As for Joseph, it was his third day with us, he had two training sessions. I think we can already see his level. He is finding his place in the team. It is noticeable that the pace of training is a little higher than what he is used to, but he is adapting well. And, of course, thanks to the fact that we have many Spanish-speaking players, he easily joins the team and it is easy for him to communicate with them.
