Patrick van Leeuwen: We are heading in the right direction towards the start of the season

The head coach of Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas Patrick van Leuven spoke about the final test match at the second summer training camp in the Netherlands - against Belgian Gent (2:1).

- Mr, congratulations on the victory. How satisfied are you with the end of the training camp?

- I am satisfied. Today we used almost all the players, except for a few young players. It was important for me to see everyone in the game again. The team demonstrated high-quality football, created many scoring opportunities and converted their chances. In general, everything went exactly as we planned, so this is a good end to the training camp.

- What did the team work on the most during the training camp in the Netherlands?

- During the training camp, we paid a lot of attention to the defensive game. This is one of the components that we prioritized after last season. Despite the changes in the squad, we continue to work on making our defensive game even more organized and reliable.

- How would you assess the adaptation of the newcomers to the team?

- It is very important that the new players quickly became part of the team. The players who were already in the team received them wonderfully, they found mutual understanding both on and off the field. This shows that the team is growing, and mutual trust and respect will help us demonstrate high-quality football.

- What will be the further plan for preparing for the start of the new season?

- Now we are returning to Kryvyi Rih, we will have one or two days to recover, after which we will continue training. There is another test match ahead in Ukraine, and the new season will start very soon. We must use this time as effectively as possible to approach the championship in optimal shape.
