Head coach of Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas Patrick van Leeuwen summed up the results of the second test match at the summer training camp against Odessa Chornomorets (1:2).
- The second test match at the summer training camp. What conclusions can you draw after the game?
- I believe that the first and second games were to get in shape, to get playing minutes. We are waiting for the team to be strengthened by new players, so for some of the guys it is a lot of work, additional work. After all, we planned that everyone would play 45 minutes. But now we are involving many players from the U-19 team. So this is not the level we are striving for yet. And this means that some players have to do additional work.
- The team is completing the first stage of training in Ukraine. How would you assess the work done during this period?
- Considering the circumstances, such as the hot weather and the need to travel to Odessa for this friendly match, a lot of work has been done. I think we have reached a certain level of physical fitness, which I wanted to see. The high temperature did not help much during the game today, but I expect that in the second stage, in the Netherlands, where the weather will not be so hot, they will feel the benefits of the hard work they have done during the first two weeks.
- There is a training camp in the Netherlands ahead. What are the main tasks facing the team at this stage of preparation?
- We want to play matches there. We will meet several European teams, so playing with them is very interesting for us. This is firstly. And secondly, we hope that new players will join us in the training camp. This will be a period when we will make a big step forward both in the game and in improving the quality of our squad.
