Patrick van Leeuwen: Satchwell scored a great goal - it's for moments like this that we invited him

Head coach of Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas Patrick van Leeuwen - about the final test match at the summer training camp - against Kyiv's Livyi Bereh (5:3).

- Patrick, what are your impressions of today's friendly match?

- This was a match that gave us the opportunity to evaluate the latest changes in the team, see the newcomers in action and give them the necessary playing practice. Physically, we are in good shape. I think we created enough chances to score more, but we made two mistakes again that cost us the goals we conceded.

- What are the main conclusions you can draw after this sparring session?

- Overall, it was a useful sparring session. All the players got playing minutes, everyone had the opportunity to prove themselves, and most importantly, everyone stayed healthy.

- At what stage of preparation is the team currently on the eve of the start of the new season?

- Each stage of our preparation had its own characteristics. The first two weeks in Ukraine were dedicated to laying a physical foundation. In the Netherlands, we did not yet have a fully formed squad - that was when new players started joining the team. This was the second stage of pre-season training, and now we are in its final stage. Our task is to help everyone adapt to the conditions in Ukraine, to the club's requirements and to be fully prepared for the opening match of the championship.

- Are you satisfied with the way the team is progressing during the summer training camp?

- I think we are moving in the right direction, although there is still a lot of work ahead. We conceded goals again that could have been avoided.

- Today, several newcomers took a direct part in effective attacks. How would you assess their performance?

- I am satisfied with the newcomers. You can see that they have good qualities. Sometimes they still lack teamwork, because they tend to act too individually, but it is a matter of time. Satchwell scored a wonderful goal - it is for such episodes that we invited him. One of the potential newcomers gave a high-quality pass to Sek, who confidently completed the attack.

- What do the newcomers still need to work on in order to fully adapt to the team's requirements?

- At the same time, there are still some differences in their game. We need to work on stability and gradually integrate them into the style of football that we want to see in Kryvbas.
