Patrick van Leeuwen: We had a good winter training camp to prepare for the second part of the season

The head coach of Kryvyi Rih "Kryvbas" Patrick van Leeuwen shared his thoughts on the seventh final test match at the winter training camp in Spain against the Norwegian "Sogndal" - 2:1.

- Patrick, which sparring match at this training camp can you call the most informative, and which one, perhaps, you liked the most in terms of the quality of the game?

- I think the first two matches gave us a lot of information about the physical work that needed to be done. We played against two teams that were very strong physically and also moved a lot. This gave us a lot of information about where we needed to aim, and I think after the first two matches we started playing football. We had good matches with the Koreans and the Chinese. From that moment on, the team started to grow. It became more interesting to watch the young players who participated in all the matches.

- Today Jones scored his debut goal for our team. How can you comment on his adaptation in Kryvbas?

- I think Joseph is adapting well, and this is also due to the fact that we have several Spanish-speaking players in our team, so it is easy for him to communicate in his own language, as well as to get to know the Ukrainian players. So, I think he is doing well. Jones is a modest guy, but he constantly communicates with other players on the team. As I said, he is adapting well, and it is a good start for him to score a goal for Kryvbas.

- Please summarize this training camp.

- We had a very good training camp, also thanks to the weather. We did not miss a single training session. Thanks to this, we were able to work outside every day. We combined it with work in the gym. Overall, we had a good training camp here in the south of Spain, and we had the right opponents to prepare for the second part of the season.

- What are the team's plans after returning to Kryvyi Rih?

- We monitor the weather in Ukraine every day, so this is one of the problems we will face upon arrival. If the temperature rises a little, our activities will be more… how to say it, more precise. We are still waiting for current information on this.
