Roman Debelko: We are playing against more mature opponents - we lacked experience, this became key

Comments after the match of the 5th round of the Ukrainian Youth League UPL-2 2026/2027 Kryvbas U-21 - Kolos U-21 - 2:4.

Roman Debelko, coach of FC Kryvbas U-21:

- We started well, scored twice, controlled the game, then conceded a quick goal. Somewhere, perhaps, we lacked experience and, unfortunately, lost. As I said, I believe that we lacked experience. I repeat, we are playing with older players, opponents. I believe this is key.

The first thirty minutes - we are satisfied. The team tried to control the game, scored two goals. Then somewhere we gave the opponent the advantage. And, of course, the game with set pieces had an effect. The Kolos team has many adult players, they were able to take advantage of this. The positive thing is that they scored twice. This is pleasing. We need to improve in defense, especially in individual actions in defense, because we allowed the opponent to beat us very often, to pass easily. We will work on this more.

Yaroslav Taranenko, goalkeeper of FC Kryvbas U-21:

- I am very happy to debut in the starting lineup. The first match for me, but, unfortunately, we lost 2:4. We were winning 2:0... We will continue to work. Yes, I feel the coaches' trust. I am very happy about this. I will try in the future, I hope not to let them down. Before the match, the coaches told me to go out and play calmly, as always, not to worry about the fact that this is my debut, that there are older guys there. That's what I tried to do. I am very happy to get this chance. It is very important for me.
