Striker of Kryvyi Rih "Kryvbas" Uzoma Chijoke told the club's journalists about his first steps in football, as well as his plans for the future.
- Uzoma, congratulations! Was it your childhood dream to become a professional football player, or did someone push you to do so?
- This happened thanks to my classmates. At that time, almost everyone, except me, played in the local Football Academy. Therefore, I decided not to sit idle and join football.
- Do you remember your first match?
- I was still very young when I played my first match in Nigeria. But I will remember him forever, because I played barefoot, without boots. Then we lived in difficult times. When I was seven years old I lost my father. Three brothers and mother remained in the family, all relatives turned away from us. I used to skip exams at school just to earn money and help my mother buy medicine and food for her. But despite the difficulties, my mother found money and bought me my first boots. I owe everything to her only, she is my strength. At that time, I was passionate about football, playing with the boys outside all day, honing my shots, coming home and studying all the famous players and clubs, all the details.
- Do you keep in touch with your first coach? Maybe there are people who have had a significant impact on your life?
- Yes, we are still in touch with them, we constantly communicate. They are always in my mind and heart because they have done so much for me. Therefore, I have big plans, and I am going to constantly help them.
- You made your debut for "Kryvbas" U-19 in the match against Dynamo U-19. Remember that match, your exciting emotionsher.
- To be honest, I was very upset after this match, because I didn't manage to give myself one hundred percent and help the team win. "Dynamo" is a worthy and strong opponent, but I regret that the debut for the Kryvyi Rih team turned out exactly like this. I hope it will only get better.
- What helps you to recover psychologically in critical moments?
- I understand that despite all the difficulties I constantly face, both on and off the field, I must remain courageous. I am also helped by the faith and support of my coaches and agent, who monitor my performances for FC Kryvbas.
- How do you like the conditions for training in your new Club?
- Everything is great, I like the living conditions at the base, high-quality fields. The staff, the coaches, the guys on my team: everyone is incredibly nice and friendly. They show me real warmth and love. I promise to give my all for the success of my team.
