The head coach of Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas U-17 Vahram Dermishyan summed up the first part of the National League of the Future 2025\2026 season.
- How do you assess the team's progress in the first half of the season?
- During this period, the team has become more organized, confident and disciplined in all key phases of the game. We see development both in collective actions and in individual understanding of football. Players adhere to the game principles better and work with greater responsibility.
- Are there any matches that have become turning points or indicative for the team's development in this half-year?
- Yes, there were several such matches. Even in those matches where we did not achieve a result, the team demonstrated character and the correct understanding of our game. This confirmed that we are moving in the right direction.
- Which matches have become the most indicative in terms of the team's progress?
- First of all, I want to mention the matches against Shakhtar, Ruh and Dynamo. In the game with Donetsk, we lost by a score, but the team showed quality football, created chances, worked well with the ball. We lacked execution, but I saw fire and desire in the players; for me, as a coach, this is a very important indicator. The match against Ruh was also indicative. We played well for most of the game, but lost concentration in certain segments, which led to mistakes, penalties and conceded goals. Such matches often give more for development than victories, because they force you to grow faster and analyze your mistakes.
- Are there any players who pleasantly surprised you with their attitude, character and progress?
- We have many players who have taken a serious step forward thanks to their attitude to work, work ethic and stability. I don't want to single out anyone in particular, because all the guys work very hard. I am happy and proud to work with these players and with such a team mentality.
- Which players do you see as having the potential to strengthen the U-19 youth team in the future?
- There are already a few guys who are close to this level. These are players with the right mentality, quick decision-making and high work intensity. Some players from the U-17 team are already training with the U-19 and are really competing for a place in the squad. If they continue to work at the same pace, they have every chance of establishing themselves at this level.
- Which matches or moments do you consider the most successful during this period?
- For me, the match against Shakhtar was a successful moment. Despite the defeat, I saw a team that played with character, courage and great desire. It is these matches that shape the team and its future.
- What indicator for you, as a senior coach, is the main indicator of the team's success?
- The best indicator is progress. Both the individual development of each player and the collective development of the entire team.
- The winter part of the PRO League has ended. What tasks do you set for the team during the winter break?
- The winter break is a great time for calm and quality work. We plan to work in detail on tactical moments, adjust details and improve our game in all phases.
- What are the plans of the U-17 for the second part of the 2025\26 season?
- The main goal is to continue the development of each player and make the team more competitive and mature. We want to increase performance, stability and quality of the game so that the second part of the season becomes a logical continuation of our progress.
