Vitaliy Ponomarev: With such a rival as "Kryvbas", you cannot play open football

The head coach of Cherkasy "LNZ" Vitalii Ponomarov summed up the home match of the 7th round of the UPL against Kryvyi Rih "Kryvbas" - 0:0 at a press conference.

- I am not satisfied with the result, but if we talk about the game in general, then I am satisfied with the performance of my team. As I have already noted earlier, we are currently making many changes in the squad. From the point of view of organizing the game, we played a very high-quality match. This season we lack goals scored - this is definitely a problem that needs to be worked on.

I cannot say that we "sagged" at the end of the match. We had moments in the second half as well. "Kryvbas" is a well-prepared team that scored a lot of goals in the previous rounds of the championship. You cannot play completely open football with such an opponent, and we were preparing for this. I do not think that physically we look worse than "Kryvbas" or other opponents in previous matches.

We carefully analyzed the game of Kryvbas and understood that we needed to act as reliably as possible in defense. We have fast attackers - Prosper and Assinor. They are faster than the defenders of Kryvbas, who do not always act confidently in positional defense - this is exactly what we wanted to play on. In the first half, there were episodes when Prosper broke into the penalty area. All we had to do was execute the last pass qualitatively - and we could have had a result.
