Volodymyr Baienko: We plan to make meetings with our veterans on a regular basis

CEO of Kryvyi Rih FC Kryvbas Volodymyr Baienko - about the match of legends in Kryvyi Rih, as a result of which veterans Kryvbas were painted in the Dnipro - 4:4. Baienko became the author of one of the goals in the match.

- Say it hurts more now: knees or heart from nostalgia?

- And the knees hurt, and the heart (smiles). The very friendly atmosphere was. We played well, mentioned those times. By age, I probably do not approach the status of football legend, but it was very nice to play with these players. Their level is very high. So we ran well, mentioned the old days - the atmosphere was extremely pleasant.

In general, the match turned out to be very emotional. In a short time we managed to gather, to play. And, as the head of the Football Federation Dnipro Oleksii Markov said, we will not limit ourselves to this match. We plan to make such meetings more often. I very much hope this will be a good tradition for our legends and veterans - to gather on a regular basis, to remember and honor those who created the history of our football.

- Organize a match of legends is about football, about history, PR or somewhat deeper?

- First of all, it's about history. Remember the football players who wore a T-shirt and Kryvbas in, and the Dnieper. It is very important not to forget about the people who created this story. One of our initiatives is to organize veterans championship in the future.

We really want it. We are already negotiating with club presidents, we are actively cooperating with the Ukrainian Football Association. In our country there is football history, and it was created by specific people. Our task is to remember them and create a new story at the same time.

- You said that it is important for the club to keep in touch with those who created his story. Why?

- Because there is no future without history. We work to ensure that football veterans Kryvbas are more active in the club's life. It is important for fans to remember them, to mention their contribution, and that this is a constant connection of generations.

- What did you say today veterans after the game - without official words?

- There were many jokes, many stories from the past - and, sure they will still continue. Times change, but people always mention the best. And it's really fun and nice - to be in such an atmosphere. For me, it is a great honor and gratitude that I was present on this game, in the locker with such legends.
