Yackson Rivas, the Venezuelan midfielder for Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih, discusses the UPL international break and the team's preparations for upcoming matches.
- The team is currently training twice a day. How important is such an intensive preparation period for you?
- I think it’s crucial for us to work in this mode right now. The coaches have a reason for scheduling two sessions a day - they understand what the team needs, and we fully trust their vision and follow all their instructions. We are giving it our all to reach our peak level and be ready to play quality football in every match and training session.
- What are you focusing on most during training?
- We’re paying a lot of attention to pressing right now; the coach really likes it when the team is active off the ball and doesn't let the opponent build up attacks comfortably. We’re also working hard on our defense, as we’ve conceded quite a few goals. I believe tightening up our defensive play - and starting to win and pick up as many points as possible - is one of our top priorities at the moment.
- The international break has given the team more time to work together. How important was that specifically for Kryvbas?
- It gave us a chance to get to know each other better. Before this, everything was happening quite hurriedly: we were already playing competitive matches while new players were arriving and needing to adapt. During the break, everyone had more time to work together and gel as a unit, and the team became more cohesive. I am confident that our team’s best days are still ahead, and we will certainly bring plenty of joy to our fans.
