Yaroslav Shevchenko: I am glad that I accepted a promising invitation from Kryvbas three years ago

Kryvyi Rih Kryvbas midfielder Yaroslav Shevchenko - about his progress in the club's main team and plans for the future.

- Tell us about yourself. Where did you start, how did you get to Kryvbas?

- I was born in Kremenchuk, where I began my football career at the Kremin club. In 2023, I received a call and was invited to Kryvbas, which was just completing the squad. I am glad that I accepted this promising invitation and can now test myself at the highest level.

- What was the most memorable moment of my debut in the Kryvbas first team?

- It was an away match against Dynamo Kyiv in the 2023/24 season. At 17, the emotions were simply crazy. From the U-19 championship to getting to the first team game at the Valery Lobanovskyi Stadium - you understand that I have exceptionally positive memories.

- This season you have already played 16 matches for Kryvbas. Which matches can you take into account, and which ones, on the contrary, did not work out?

- I can say that any match needs to be analyzed and found there, both positive and negative moments. The main thing is to draw the right conclusions so as not to repeat mistakes and unsuccessful actions later. If I have to note any matches, it was with Poltava, those were my first 90 minutes in the UPL. And, perhaps, with Zorya, because it was a very interesting game, the winning score was 3:2 and I assisted Maksym Zaderaka. It turned out to be a very sharp and beautiful pass.

- By the way, in the center of the field you play next to the team captain Maksym Zaderaka. What are the advantages for you in such a "neighborhood"?

- In this group, Max is the first number, because he is a very skilled and experienced player. He has been playing at this level for a long time, he knows everything about football down to the smallest detail, it is interesting to talk to him about all these nuances of the game. Of course, he gives tips on the field at certain moments. Therefore, playing next to him is a pleasure and experience, because you understand that a leader is next to you.

- Many legionnaires play for Kryvbas - how do you communicate with them during the game and outside the field?

- We try to communicate with them, we learn the language. For example, at the training camp in Spain, the head coach organized English lessons for us with a teacher. This was done so that we Ukrainians and Spanish-speaking legionnaires could communicate in English and be able to communicate better with each other on the field. I will say that in this regard, our team has made significant progress since the beginning of the season.
