Yurii Shturko: It was a fantastic match, so it is extremely difficult to deal with such an ending emotionally

Post-match comments following the Round 12 fixture of the 2026/2027 UPL-2 youth championship between Kryvbas U-21 and Dynamo U-21 (1:2).

Yurii Shturko, Acting Senior Coach of FC Kryvbas U-21:

"You saw the lads' dedication: they weren't intimidated by the big name 'Dynamo,' they played their own brand of football, and, in my view, they were in no way inferior. I thanked the team for their commitment, but we were just a bit unlucky. I am convinced that, based on the quality of play, the result should have been at least a draw. The boys followed the game plan perfectly. You could see that several players from the first team were involved today - they handled themselves well.

The key was simply not to get in their way. Besides, once the match is underway, there’s not much you can fundamentally change. The whole team was responsible for conceding the goals. I believe a lapse in concentration in the final minutes let us down - players relied on each other too much, and that led to such a disappointing outcome. It’s very frustrating and unpleasant. It was a fantastic match, so, on an emotional level, it’s extremely difficult to accept an ending like this."

Ramir Hubenko, Defender for FC Kryvbas U-21:

"I can rate the team's performance positively: we fought hard and gave our all on every inch of the pitch, but unfortunately, the final result is negative. We lacked a bit of concentration during our defensive work. Furthermore, we had a chance late in the game to level the score, but we failed to convert it." It’s always tough to lose, especially since we take the field with the sole aim of winning.

Conceding a goal so late in the game is really disappointing, but we’ll keep working hard and focus on the next round - we’re determined to secure all three points then. Petrakov? Well, naturally, we wanted to make the best possible impression on the head coach of the club’s senior team. I believe everyone gave their absolute all. And it wasn’t just about the attention from the stands - the whole team genuinely wanted to win today.
