Yuriy Vernydub: We also deserved to win, but this is football

The head coach of Kryvyi Rih "Kryvbas" Yuriy Vernydub commented on the away match of the 1/8 finals of the Cup of Ukraine against Zhytomyr "Polyssia" - 1:2 at the press conference.

- I want to congratulate "Polissya" on the victory. But, in my opinion, "Kryvbas" also deserved to win. But this is football. Somewhere we were unlucky, but the opponent was the opposite. As I said in the flash interview, we made "Polyssia" suffer on the football field, because we played really well. They had their moments, but it happens that they gave way.

I am grateful to my team for this game. I watched the match "Rukh" - "Karpaty" yesterday. And, I think, our game was even more interesting and intense. There is a "Dynamo" - "Shakhtar" derby, a Lviv derby. Today we also played a good derby: Kryvyi Rih - Zhytomyr.

- Why did Polissia win today? Can you name five factors?

- Firstly, somewhere Fortune was on their side. Also, "Polyssia" already has players of the national team of Ukraine, as well as the youth team. The opponent is good. In terms of player selection, the squad is not bad. But we did not give in today. We still have a long way to go.

- What did they say to the team in the locker room?

- He thanked the boys and told them to raise their heads. Everything is fine, everything is yet to come. We are preparing for "Movement".

- "Kryvbasa" will also play against "Polyssia" in November...

- This game is still not soon. It is too early to talk about it. But now we will play at home. Let's see how Polissya will look in Kryvyi Rih.

- Was this match important for you? 

- For me, all matches are fundamental. Either "Dynamo", "Shakhtar", "Polissya", or "Obolon". I always want to win. But this is a sport. It is not without defeats. The main thing is that in the next game our football players come out and start winning again.
